The young company, founded in 2014, is also often referred to as "Ebay for Construction Machinery"; with such a substantial investment of "Sumitomo Corporation Group", Equippo wants to become the market leader in Europe. The Japanese global group in Tokyo, belongs to the "Fortune500" and generated annual sales of around CHF 49 billion, with a profit of almost CHF 3 billion. Sumitomo rents, sells and maintains construction machinery worldwide. Based on information, Sumitomo intends to focus increasingly on second-hand markets. The Online marketplace of Equippo operates today in 55 countries; the Auction Platform currently lists up around 200 construction machines, which are available immediately and ready for worldwide shipping. Equippo currently employs 23 people; the financing rounds in 2015 and 2016 brought together CHF 5 million. In addition to the two co-founders, Swiss investors also invested money in the start-up company. The market volume for used construction machinery amounts to approximately CHF 100 billion worldwide; the European share amounts to about CHF 30 billion. Enterprises, which cannot afford to buy completely new construction machines, can find cheaper alternatives on the Equippo Online platform. The profitable second-hand market has arrived in the digitalization era and is now replacing the previous analogue trading. Der Online-Marktplatz von Equippo ist heute in 55 Laendern taetig; auf der Auktions-Plattform sind derzeit rund 200 Baumaschinen aufgelistet, welche sofort verfuegbar und fuer den weltweiten Versand bereit sind. Equippo beschaeftigt derzeit 23 Mitarbeiter; die Finanzierungs-Runden in den Jahren 2015 und 2016 brachten 5 Mio. CHF zusammen. Ausser den beiden Co-Gruendern investierten auch Schweizer Anleger Geld in das Start-up Unternehmen. Das Marktvolumen fuer gebrauchte Baumaschinen betraegt weltweit schaetzungsweise 100 Mrd. CHF; der europaeische Anteil belaeuft sich auf zirka 30 Mrd. CHF. Firmen, denen ganz neue Baumaschinen zu teuer sind, finden auf der Online-Plattform von Equippo guenstigere Alternativen. Der lohnende Occasions-Markt ist in der Digitalisierung angekommen und loest jetzt den bisherigen analogen Handel ab.
